Making the Other We Need (Made to Order: Robots and Revolution) short story by Alastair Reynolds ∗ ∗ ∗+.short story by Vina Jie-Min Prasad ∗∗∗∗.There is good or better work from Daryl Gregory, Ken Liu, Sarah Pinsker, Alastair Reynolds, and Suzanne Palmer. There are very good stories from Vina Jie-Min Prasad, A Guide for Working Breeds, a humorous tale about a robot and its killbot mentor and Ian MacLeod, his award worthy Sin Eater, a story about a robot “sin-eater” that enables the transmigration of the last Pope to virtual reality. Summary: A very mixed bag of stories about robots (about half of the volume), AI (about a quarter), and a few that seem to be about neither.
