So when they finally get together, I realized I didn’t care either way. (Or maybe it was, I started skimming at the 70% mark because I was over this shit show.)īecause of all the holes in the world building and the, in my opinion, poor writing style, I couldn’t really connect with the characters. Apparently if pure bloods die out, the entire vampire species dies out. In this book, vampires have learned to feed on each other instead of humans because human blood make them weaker and dumber, so pure bloods are vampires who come from a long line of other vampires who didn’t feed on humans. ![]() Pure bloods have to cater to the minute needs and wants of lesser ranked vampires. Getting to the actual plot itself, we follow a pure blooded vampire who has to do a bunch of political work he doesn’t like doing because of… reasons. ![]() It screams inexperienced author and was wildly uncomfortable to read. ![]() Which I get isn’t objectively wrong, but it’s almost always used in exclusively first novels and by writing students.
